The project is currently on hold. The City was unsuccessful in negotiating land rights.
What is the scope of this project?
The proposed project includes the addition of a sidewalk, a shared-use path, curb and gutter, landscaping, and stormwater management improvements including a “stormwater pocket park” for the reconstruction of NE 2nd Street between NE 10th Avenue and NE 16th Avenue. This design was recommended based upon a consultant conducted feasibility study in 2011.
Who has been hired to work on the project?
DRMP has been hired as the design consultant for a fee of $249,645. DRMP started the design process in 2014 and is currently at 30% plans. Design plans will be posted once the 60% design phase is reached.
When will construction start and how long will it last?
It is anticipated that design will be complete by the fall of 2015. Construction is currently only partially funded. Project costs are estimated to be $2.1M and $1.1M is available as of FY15. The project will go out to bid and a construction start date will be scheduled once all necessary funding is secured. Construction duration will be dependent upon the magnitude of stormwater remediation included within the project.
